Lot Essay

Mr Martini, of New York, is described in Ratto's preface to this sale as 'un savant qui je ne puis nommer'. His collection, formed between 1910 and 1924, was dispersed in three sales, the Roman coins being sold in two parts, in May 1925 and June 1926.
