Struck during Philippe's minority (1482-98), these coins bear the title of the Holy Roman Emperor, the regent, Maximilian, as well as the titles of Philippe as duke of Brabant and Limbourg. The figure in the ship is therefore the Emperor, and he holds the Orb, part of the Imperial Regalia, above Philippe's shield.
