The unusual case modelled in the form of a palanquin and with two warring amorini to the fore, the front mounted with royal blue enamel panels, the lower panel decorated en grisaille with amorini, with foliate scroll frame around a further enamel plaque painted with the portrait of a lady, the white enamel Roman dial (cracked) with retail signature DENT PARIS, steel moon hands (minute lacking), the twin barrel movement with strike on bell, with repeat signature to the back plate; case re-gilt -- 15in. (38cm.) high
