A Spanish rosewood travelling barometer, mid 19th century
The folding rectangular case with hook catch, opening to a mercury thermometer to one side, with Réaumur and Centigrade scales, corresponding groove to the other side for the cistern, with sliding engraved brass register plate above, the other side with mercury barometer with extended scale, also with corresponding groove to the other side for the cistern, the top signed Mattès en Madrid -- 36in. (91.5cm.) high
