The case with brass handle to the breakarch top, arched fishscale sound frets to the sides, the stepped and moulded base raised on bracket feet, the white painted Roman dial with strike/silent ring in the arch, signed in the centre Alex. Cummings London (dial retouched), pierced steel hands (minute restored), the twin wire fusee movement with verge escapement and strike on bell, trip repeat, the back plate profusely engraved with flowerheads and scrolls -- 15¾in. (40cm.) high to hilt of handle
