A carved oak longcase clock
The hood with scroll cresting centred by an urn and with outset spiral-twist columns, the 'onion' top trunk door carved in low relief with floral designs, with conforming decoration to the plinth raised on bracket feet, the 13in. wide dial with peacock and foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman chapter ring, the centre also silvered and with subsidiary seconds and date rings (date hand lacking), the arch with silvered convex disc engraved with a sparrow, with falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; composite, case, dial and movement associated, case and movement 19th century, dial early 20th century -- 91½in. (232.5cm.) high
