The highly-ornate dolphin hammers with forward-bolted safeties, best foliate-scroll engraving with some hardening-colour, highly-figured stock with pistolgrip, engraved pistolgrip-cap (with trap) and chequered iron butt-plate, the forestock with a finely-engraved finial, sling-eyes, the browned bold damascus barrels with matt sight-rib, open-sights and brass-tipped ram-rod, each percussion breech with a finely-engraved platinum breech-plug

The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed in 1869. It is of particularly fine quality and it appears to have been relatively little used
