Three Unusual Archaistic Bronze Bells, Yong Zhong
Each cast on two sides with a trapezoidal panel inscribed with a two- character inscription, cong zhong, on one side, and flanked by rows of nipples alternating with bands of flat-cast dragon scroll repeated on the rounded shoulder, all above a taotie-mask gu panel cast in low relief, with a further band of dragon scroll on the thick collar at the base of the octagonal shank interrupted by a loop formed by a dragon bent backwards to bite its tail, with dark silvery grey patina and some cuprite encrustation
