TWO STRAW-GLAZED FIGURES
Sui/Early Tang dynasty, 7th century
One a soldier modeled standing upright, wearing a belted armored tunic and a helmet with long flaps, with bulging eyes and furrowed brow; the other an official standing in a slightly swayed posture, with hands clasped and concealed within the folds of his long sleeves, wearing an unglazed hat.
16¼ and 17¼ in. (41.3 and 43.8cm.) high (2)
