A Large Fahua Baluster Vase
Ming dynasty, 16th century
The body decorated in white slip and turquoise, yellow and white glaze with lotus scroll bearing three large blossoms between a petal-lappet border below and a ruyi collar above, with two sprigs of lingzhi fungus on the neck between the pair of turquoise dragon handles, their long bifurcated tails trailing onto the shoulder, all reserved on a dark bluish-purple ground which continues over the petal-lobed rim
