Qianlong seal mark and of the period (1736-1795)
With bulbous body raised on a slightly spreading foot and tall waisted neck flaring towards the rim, covered overall with an opaque glaze of delicate grey-blue tone in imitation of guan ware, the inside of the foot similarly glazed and the underside of the foot dressed with a brown slip

Laffan in the Catalogue of the Morgan Collection of Chinese Porcelains, no. 24 and later included in the S Marchant & Son exhibition, Qing Mark and Period Monochrome and Two-Coloured Wares, London, June 1992, no. 30.
