A Rare Turquoise-Glazed Circular Brushwasher
Kangxi period (1662-1722)
The thick, low sides made in imitation of a segment of bamboo leaves, incised on the exterior with two sprigs of bamboo leaves above two bands of small bosses, and with stippling on the top of the rim, the interior carved with a pattern of swirling clouds, all under a turquoise glaze of rich tone, the base covered with a thin dressing burnt reddish-orange in the firing
