Lot Essay

Qingshan is not a name that has been recorded as a maker of Yixing wares, and whoever made this peach was a master of his craft. The dragons surrounding the seal suggest that it might have been a seal for a member of the Imperial family, or received as a high honor from such a person, and it may identify the owner of the bottle rather than its maker.
