A Dutch silver marriage beaker
Mark of Jan Carels Heixan I (Wassenberg 122), Dokkum, 1685
Of tapering form on plain rim foot, the upper body engraved with standing figures in ovals within openwork foliage cartouches incoporating grotesque masks, with tied ribbons between suspending a coat-of-arms between the initials ES, a lozenge of arms between IE and an oval cartouche with the date 1674, marked below border
