THIRD, EXPANDED EDITION OF RICARDO'S CELEBRATED WORK. In the 'Advertisement' for this edition Ricardo states that he has 'inserted a new chapter on the subject of MACHINERY, and on the effects of its improvement on the interests of the different classes of the state'; that 'in the chapter on the DISTINCTIVE PROPERTIES OF VALUE and RICHES, I have examined the doctrines of M. Say on that important question, as amended in the fourth and last edition of his work'; and that additions have been made to chapters I and XXXII (pp.[ix]-x). If the hammer price of a lot exceeds €90,000 then the premium for the lot is calculated at 20.825% of the first €90,000 plus 11.9% of any amount in excess of €90,000.
