The funnel bowls engraved in calligraphic script, one with 'T WELVAREN VAN DE OOSTINDISCHE COMPANIE (The Prosperity of the East India Company) and GVOC (Generale Nederlandse Geoctroieerde Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie), the other with 'T WELVAREN VAN DE WESTINDISCHE COMPANIE (The Prosperity of the West India Company) and GWC (Generale Nederlandse Geoctroieerde Westindische Compagnie), the stems with hollow inverted baluster knops set between mereses, the folded conical feet with flowering foliage
The GVOC 17.1 cm. (6¾ in.), the GWC 16.5 cm. (6½ in.) high (2)

Christie's charges a Buyer's premium calculated at 20.825% of the hammer price for each lot with a value up to €90,000. If the hammer price of a lot exceeds €90,000 then the premium for the lot is calculated at 20.825% of the first €90,000 plus 11.9% of any amount in excess of €90,000. Buyer's Premium is calculated on this basis for each lot individually.

This form of glass is very characteristical of those glasses Mooleyser used for his work. The style of the calligraphy and the engraving of the feet would also point to the hand of Mooleyser. It appears that these goblets have never been separated since their execution, more than three centuries ago.
