With its distinctive scrolled apron and toes, bombè form and carved panelled sides, this bureau is characteristic of Bordelaise craftsmanship. A similar bureau is illustrated in Jacqueline du Pasquer, es Arts Dècoratifs Bordelaise, 1991, p. 122.
