James Upton established a print works bearing his name in 1852 in Birmingham, on Cambridge Street. Also known as the Baskerville Works, the firm specialized in the production of theatrical posters. This model of the Cambridge Street factory was presented to James Baskerville Upton, the grandson of the founder of the firm, who remained with the firm until his death in 1947.
