A GEORGE III SILVER EPERGNE

On four shell feet, the openwork frame formed of leaf-clad supports with laurel and berry garlands between, with central urn-form finial, the scolling leaf-clad arms supporting four circular hanging baskets pierced with pales and garlands, the central basket boat-shaped and similarly decorated, the urn and five baskets each engraved with monogram DS under a crest, marked on frame, each basket, and each arm; together with a silver standing basket, boat-form, the sides and foot pierced with pales and garlands, with beaded rims, each side engraved with a crest and motto, mark of Thomas Pitts, London, 1773, foot modern
