Kashmir, 19th century
Manuscript on paper, 293ff. with 17ll. of black naskh within gold clouds, gold roundels between verses, text within blue and gold rules, sura headings in blue on gold panels, opening illuminated bifolium with similar bifolia at the mid-point of the Qur'an and at the end, gold leaf-shaped marker in the margins every tenth verse, other blue and gold marginal medallions marking the juz, medallions in the corner marking the number of the juz and the name of the sura, generally good condition, tan morocco binding with flap with gold tooled decoration
