A POLYCHROME LACQUER PAPIER MACHÉ QALAMDAN WITH GOLD INKWELL
Signed by Ibrahim, Qajar Iran, dated AH 1326/1908-9 AD
With rounded ends and sliding tray, the top with a horizontal composition of three cartouches, the central cartouche with three ladies bathing signed raqam Ibrahim 1326 flanked by smaller cartouches with portraits of European ladies, the sides with rural scenes and further portraits of European ladies, the tray and base with gold floral meander on black ground, the pencase retaining its original gold covered inkwell, minor chips to lacquer
