A QAJAR ENAMELLED SILVER NARGILEH BASE
Probably Shiraz, South East Iran, mid 19th century
Of curving conical form with flaring mouth, the copper body painted with wreaths alternating with leafy sprays in gold with applied beads, the neck with very delicately drawn gold floral sprays dividing wreaths inset with glass beads on a cobalt-blue glass ground, bands of similar decoration above and below, the flaring mouth similar, green enamelling on the raised dividing bands, areas of damage and losses to enamels
