A fine Austrian ophthalmoscope circa 1865,
an Edward Jaeger pattern, modified by Ludwig Mauthner (1840-1894) the maker's mark on the inside of the lid F. Fritsch, Optician, Vienna, with nine lenses (three missing), concave and convex lenses, two rings with lateral pins, one with a mirror and another with glass, contained in a fishskin covered, lined case --8.5in. (21.5cm.) long
