signed on the foot ROSS LONDON 4156 and on the base of the binocular body-tube WENHAM'S BINOCULAR by Ross, London, the eyepieces with rack and pinion adjustment, the body tube on an arm with rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, with prism and an unusual attachment with a lens on the side and a flat piece of glass inside at 45°, the mechanical stage with graduated circumference, fully adjustable substage condensor with diaphragm and plano concave substage mirror, the heavy body limb raised on two supports with friction clamp, with one adjustable ¼in. Swift & Son objective and 4/10 and 1in. objectives by R. & J. Beck Ltd, in cannisters, one eyepiece marked A and two marked B, in the original fitted mahogany case with two doors, brass carrying handle and key, one door with an ivorine plaque for DEEPEES Optical & Scientific Dealers 22.
