A PEREPEDIL PRAYER RUG
South Caucasus, circa 1850
The ivory field with scattered minor flowerheads and stylised motifs around a column of rams' horn and angular panels containing minor motifs flanked by similar designs on either side below an ivory mihrab arch with stylised floral motifs, in an angular ivory floral meander border between plain and multiple striped stripes, very slight wear in the field and slight loss at one end
