marked Fabergé and with the workmaster's mark of Anders Nevalainen, St. Petersburg, 1898-1903, with scratched inventory number 15788
Of rectangular form, the pale blue translucent enamel over guilloché ground within ribbon-tied reeded rim and acanthus leaf aperture, with a rosette at each corner and surmounted by a tied ribbon above hanging laurel-leaf swags, enclosing a postcard of the Tsarevich Aleksei Nicholaevich, the reverse with a pencil note from Empress Alexandra Feodorovna to Princess Marie Bariatinsky, her Lady-in-Waiting, 'To Dearest Clary, with Heartiest X-mas wishes & blessings for the coming year 1909, fr. yr. very loving, Alexandra', with silver strut, marked on rim and strut
