A fine antique Qashqai rug, South-West Persia
The abrashed indigo field with various polychrome hooked panels, animals, trees, palmettes and leaves around three ivory serrated pole medallions, each with bold stylised hooked palmette centrepiece, spandrels similar, in double flowering vine and hooked boteh border between barber-pole stripes, chequered skirt at each end, slight even wear, part cord missing at one side, slight loss in one corner, small repair at one end
