the helmet shaped body finely chased with classical gods and mortals on a granulated ground, the applied handle modelled as a winged maiden wearing a laurel wreath, supported on a realistically cast model of a dragon standing on a circular base with laurel wreath border, the interior gilded, the body engraved BEAUDESERT; HUNT CUP; LICHFIELD APRIL 1889; WON BY; MR. J. F. SHAW'S; TALISMAN; RIDDEN BY OWNER within a ribbon tied swag border and over a grotesque mask motif - 38cm. (15in.), 73oz.
