Château Gruaud-Larose--Vintage 1982
Saint-Julien, 2me cru classé
In original wooden case
Levels: bottom neck or better
I have had this wine a number of times & it just gets better, in terms of pure enjoyment it is not far off the first growths & in time it may even eclipse one or two of them; it may also turn out to be as good as the profound 1961. An even deepish red color. The nose is jammed with rusty dark plums, truffles, warm smoky old wood & tobacco. On the palate this is a delicous wine, strong, robust; it grips & fills the mouth. This is Gruaud at it's best and anyone who has not had this classic Bordeaux red should endeavor to do so without delay. DW
