Almost all the wines offered were purchased as futures or upon release. The great range of tasting verticals here have all come from previously unopened original wooden cases and reflect the owner's passion for comparing, tasting and above all enjoying wine. In terms of quality & storage they don't come much better than this.
David Wainwright
Château Lafite-Rothschild--Vintage 1945
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Re-corked by Château Lafite in 1989. Level: into neck
"Initially a low-keyed nose but it blossoms in the glass, churning out a fabulous biscuity, spicy, slightly citrus-like penetrating fragrance. A distinct touch of sweetness on the palate, by no means a heavyweight, more of a middle-weight, elegant and stylish, svelt yet with some concentration, great length and dry finish. At its best, simply lovely." GVWB
