Tasted: 03/2002 The 1983 d'Yquem is one of the greatest dessert wines made in the last 30 years, in fact it may turn out to be the best
d'Yquem since the definitive 1967. Colorwise it shows no signs of age, still a classic golden/lemon yellow. The nose has a huge array of ripe, singed citrus aroma's; condensed marmelade, fresh apricots & and a hint of overipe lemon. This wine tastes fantastic, it is incredibly rich & dense in flavour; layers of concentrated honeyed lemon & marmelade with searing acidity that should give this wine a long life. A long lingering finish that encouraged me to fill my glass again. DW
