Beringer Vineyards, Private Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon --Vintage 1991
Napa Valley
In original carton
Winemaker notes: 1991: one of the longest, coolest growing seasons in memory--in an area where long and cool growing seasons are common--produced intense, tannic and well-balanced wines with great aging potential. Again, the Chabot, St. Helena Home and Bancroft vineyards were the source of the Cabernet Sauvignon for the Private Reserve, with the addition of 3 Cabernet Franc from the Bancroft Vineyard. The wine is highly concentrated and extractive, with somewhat closed fruit that suggests continuing development and very long-term cellaring potential. It has very fine, integrated tannins and a long finish that shows more fruit than the initial aromas of the wine suggests.
