A concert in an interior

The composition appears to derive from a picture, signed and dated 1627, sold at Sotheby's, London, 8 December 1976, lot 24. The present picture extends slightly to the left and more substantially on the right side revealing the lute in it's entirety on the table, and thus providing an indication as to the original format of the composition.
