A Damascus rectangular tile
17th century
painted in blue, aubergine, turquoise, green and white enamels with trailing tulip and chrysanthemum sprays and palmettes reserved with entwined foliage, above a band of foliate design -- 11in. x 9¼in. (28cms x 23.5cms), (restored); two Safavid tiles decorated in blue, white, turquoise, black and ochre enamels with geometric and floral designs -- 8in. (20.2cms) wide max, (one restored); and a small rectangular border tile section, decorated with trailing flowers and foliage within moulded bands -- 6in. (15.2cms) long.
