Rajasthan, Jaipur, circa 1800
gouache heightened with gold on paper, Krishna and Radha sit together on a throne surrounded by gopis and dancing girls, around the terrace are gardens and beyond it the palace of Jaipur in a landscape beside the river, the whole peopled with minute figures and animals, gold margin between black rules, white outer rule, red border with gold flowering vine, mounted, framed and glazed - 29.5 x 24cm. (areas of flaking and re-touching).
