The date of the Beatles' return to the Cavern Club, 12th April, 1963 was their penultimate appearance at the club. Following a hectic touring schedule at the beginning of 1963, the band's reputation was quickly spreading outside Liverpool necessitating a move away from their home town to London. As such, 1963 saw them play at the Cavern Club only eleven times in total. Please Please Me, their first album, had just been released on 22nd March and From Me To You, their second number one single, was released the day before this Cavern Club appearance
