At the time these signatures were obtained, the vendor was working as a journalist for a London newspaper, and was sent to the offices of Apple Corps at 3 Savile Row, W1, to interview John Lennon about his first book In His Own Write. The vendor explains that as his name was similar to Lennon's, Lennon mispelt the name and added the ard at the end rather hurriedly.
