A Lower Austrian Zwischengold dated armorial tumbler by Johann Joseph Mildner
of slightly flared cylindrical form, set with an oval double-walled medallion gilt on a ruby-ground with a coat-of-arms featuring the monogram JCB within a curled sea-serpent's tail, surmounted and flanked by mantling, all within a rope-twist and band border, the silver foil reverse with a partly illegible inscription and signed Mildner fec. á Gutenbrunn 1795, the rim cut with ovals and engraved with stylised foliage, the footrim cut with thumb flutes, 1795 (slight deterioration to foil panel) -- 11.5cm. high
