The pyramidal-shaped rectangular hinged top with floral patera-carved rectangular handle and stiff-leaf edge enclosing a lead-lined interior, above a tapering body, panelled with conforming stiff-leaf carved edges, on a waisted plinth base

Lot Essay

An oak cellaret of this pattern, with the lower edge inlaid with lotus-leaves, was made for the dining-room at Tew Park in 1817 by George Bullock. A cellaret of this pattern was sold anonymously, in these Rooms 29 November 2001, lot 22 (£9,400).
