A WHITE JADE BRUSH-WASHER
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

Modelled as a ruyi-head, carved on the smaller vertical side with a stylised Shou character, below a bat with the tips of its outstretched wings resting on the mouth rim, suspending from its mouth a musical stone attached to ribbons that straddle to the opposite mouth rim, dividing a pair of rosettes each suspending a loose ring on either side, all raised on four evenly spaced ruyi feet, the stone of even tone with small area of opaque inclusions
