A Dutch Delft chinoiserie plaque
Circa 1740
Painted in colours with a scene of an Oriental servant offering a bottle to a warrior, flanked by flowering chrysanthemum branches issuing from a fence, the shaped raised border with a band of diaperwork reserved with flowerheads and moulded with four shells, pierced to the top with two apertures (one shell restored)
