Henry Wood ELLIOTT (1846-1930). Report on the Prybilov Group, or Seal Islands, of Alaska. Washington: Government Printing Office, 1873. 4° (296 x 243mm). Mounted on guards throughout. 49 mounted albumen-print photographs after drawings by Elliott. (Occasional light spotting, some fading to prints.) Contemporary half morocco (extremities rubbed). First edition, very rare:the Library of Congress online catalog notes that 127 copies were printed (the pressses were apparently stopped because of the outspoken opinions of the author).
