Contemporary calf gilt, red morocco lettering-pieces, covers with centrally-tooled initial 'B' surmounted by a ducal coronet (joints split, spines chipped). Provenance: Ducal library (binding); Henry E,Childs, jr. (stamps on endpapers). First edition, without the 'Supplement' (including 2 folding maps) published in 1787.
