Lot Essay

Other photographs of Miss Consatble, dated 1866, were sold in these rooms in 1976. Jones adds "A painting entitled FORGET-ME-NOT, closely based on Rejlander's photograph, was exhibited (without acknowledgement) at the Royal Academy."
