THREE CYPRIOT NEOLITHIC ANDESITE STONE AXEHEADS
5TH-3RD MILLENNIUM B.C.
Each tapering to small rounded butt, with curved cutting edge, 3 to 6¼ in. (7.5 to 15.8 cm.) long; a picrolite shallow dish with short vertical sides, the flat rim and exterior incised with hatched tangent triangles, twin grooved lugs, on flat disc base pierced through centre, 4 3/8 in. (11.2 cm.) diam.; a dark grey andesite mortar dish, the shallow concave bowl with three square-sectioned legs, 6¼ in. (16 cm.) diam.; four circular steatite mortar dishes, three with narrow rim and ring base, and one with flat circular base, 4 1/8 to 6 5/8 in. (10.5 to 16.8 cm.) diam.; four conical steatite pestles, 2¼ to 3 5/8 in. (5.8 to 9.2 cm.) high, all circa 14th-12th Century B.C.; an ovoid stone weight pierced at the top for suspension; another weight, circular, pierced through the centre, 3 1/8 in. (8 cm.) high max.; a rounded stone mace head, with deep central hole, 2¼ in. (5.7 cm.) high; a spherical stone pounder, 2¾ in. (7 cm.) diam.; and two Cypriot limestone fragments, the lower part of a left arm, with fingers curled under the fist, 8 in. (20.4 cm.) long; and a fragmentary quadriga, the four horses with long straight forelegs, and a yoke across the necks, 5 in. (12.7 cm.) long, both 6th-5th Century B.C. (19)
