A CYPRIOT MOTTLED RED POLISHED WARE HEMISPHERICAL BOWL
EARLY/MIDDLE BRONZE AGE, CIRCA 2000-1800 B.C.
With single pierced lug on the rim, decorated with incised geometric motifs, a cross-hatched frieze above connecting a series of hatched lozenges, 6 in. (15.3 cm.) diam.; a similar ware round-based jug, a pierced lug at base of short neck, with incised vertical zigzag, 5 5/8 in. (14.4 cm.) high; a similar Incised Red Polished Ware jug, with wavy lines and encircling bands, 5 in. (12.6 cm.) high; a similar ware shallow bowl with single pierced lug, 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) diam., all Early Bronze Age, 2500-1900 B.C.; two Drab Polished Ware round-based jugs with wide cylindrical necks, one with short cutaway side spout and decorated overall with incised parallel lines and impressed circles, the other with zigzags and parallel lines, 7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) and 7¾ in. (19.6 cm.) high respectively; a juglet similar with narrow neck, incised parallel lines and circles, 4 in. (10.2 cm.) high; two others similar, with 'nipple' base and raised boss below neck, 3½ in. (9 cm.) high av.; a Handmade Black Slip Ware juglet with spherical body, incised bands and encircling zigzag, slip worn away, 4 in. (10.2 cm.) high, all Middle Bronze Age, 1900-1650 B.C.; a similar ware 'poppy-head' juglet with offset neck and pinched spout, finely incised linear decoration, on ring foot, Middle Bronze Age, circa 1725-1650 B.C., 6¼ in. (15.9 cm.) high; a Base Ring Ware juglet similar, with relief bands; and a pilgrim flask with flattened body, 4½ in. (11.5 cm.) and 5¼ in. (13.4 cm.) high respectively, both Late Bronze Age, 1600-1450 B.C., some with repair (13)
