A CYPRIOT BICHROME WARE JUGLET WITH SIDE SPOUT
CYPRO-ARCHAIC, 750-475 B.C.
Decorated overall with vibrant red and black decoration, comprising linear motifs and unusual red and black dots covering the surface, slight restoration to rim, 4 1/8 in. (10.4 cm.) high; two similar ware juglets, each with short neck and pinched spout, red and black encircling bands with black strokes around the shoulder, on flat base, 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high max.; a Wheelmade White Painted Ware juglet with short side spout, the neck with flaring rim, decorated with red painted pendant leaves around the shoulder, on flat base, 4¾ in. (12 cm.) high; two other jugs, similar ware, one with pinched spout, on ring base, the other with side spout and wide neck surmounted by an arching handle, repaired, both with encircling band decoration, 6 3/8 in. (16.2 cm.) and 7 5/8 in. (19.3 cm.) high respectively; and a Bichrome Ware jar, the ovoid depressed body with narrow rounded rim and twin horizontal loop handles, encircling bands, 4 3/8 in. (11.1 cm.) high, all Iron Age, 1050-475 B.C. (7)
