A CYPRIOT LIMESTONE FEMALE VOTARY HEAD
6TH CENTURY B.C.
With archaic features, her hair worn in rows of tight curls around her forehead and hanging loose behind, wearing a high coronet and elaborate 'ear-caps' with drop pendants, mounted; and a Mycenaean pottery spouted bowl, the channel-spout with the rim forming a bridge-piece, the tapered bowl decorated with orange-brown encircling bands, groups of strokes around the rim, concentric circles on the flat base, the rim with twin loop handles, circa 1400-1100 B.C.
