FOUR LURISTAN BRONZE SWORDS
CIRCA 12TH-9TH CENTURY B.C.
One with the lower hilt cast in imitation of an inlaid-flanged hilt, with 'ear'-shaped pommel, each of the two semicircular 'ears' chased with border of dotted triangles and frieze of dots between double lines, similar chased motif at the neck of the pommel, 13¾ in. (35 cm.) long; two other daggers with 'ear'-shaped pommels, 15½ in. (39.4 cm.) and 13 3/8 in. (34 cm.) long; and another dagger with bronze hilt over-cast onto the iron blade, with crescentic pommel and two horizontal flanges on the grip, late 2nd millennium B.C., 14 in. (35.5 cm.) long (4)
