A GREEK GOLD NECKLACE

Composed of a finely plaited gold wire chain terminating at each end in lion heads with broad collars decorated with filigree palmette motifs, the 'knot of Herakles' filigree clasp decorated with four spirals, one at each corner, and with three filigree rosettes, a spiral, a leaf and two central palmettes with central garnet, traces of blue enamel on the lion collars, the palmettes, the leaf and the spiral
Chain incl. terminals 11 5/8 in. (29.6 cm.) long; knot clasp 3.1 x 1.8 cm.
